タイでとても評判の高い彫刻家Haritorn Akarapat(ハリトーン・アカラパット）の初個展を開催 致します。ヴァニタスは、新しいミクストメディア絵画と銅像の作品群で、生のはかなさ、快楽のむなしさ、そして 死の必然を浮き彫りにします。タイの名門シラパコーン大学の卒業生であるアカラパットは、銅像の緑青を用いる独特 の手法をあみ出しました。その作品の像や絵画で用いられる荒削りで鮮やかな形と色は、観る人の心の奥底に眠る原始 の感情をふたたび呼び覚ますきっかけとなるでしょう。

Haritorn Akarapat(ハリトーン・アカラパット）
1961年 タイ・バンコク出身
名高い彫刻家のHaritorn Akarapat（ハリトーン・アカラパット）は、仏教思想への結びつけと並行して、時間というコンセプトに熱い関心を求める。タイの名門、シラパコーン大学の卒業生であるAkarapatは、青銅の彫刻において緑青に用いる一風変わった手法を開発した。鮮やかな色が使われ、粘土の鋳型からは世俗的で形成的な側面がほとんど取り除かれている。仏教教育で育ったAkarapatが形にするのは、時間に関する事象である。粘土と青銅を用いた様々な手法により、彫刻の異なる生を隠喩として輪廻を表現する。時に、Akarapatの液体と火を用いる製法からは、礼拝の儀式との関連性を見出すことができる。腐食が持つ感覚が、洞察への道筋となり、本質的に智慧を導く道筋となる。
90年初頭に日本の美ヶ原高原美術館にて”Henry Moore Grand prize Exhibition”にも参加したことがある。
